RECENT COVERAGE Provided photos and text for a National Wildlife print article and web post about the March 2011 tsunami that killed thousands of birds at Midway Atoll NWR. Author of a guidebook for visiting Midway. Coauthor of Peterson Field Guide: Hummingbirds and Butterflies (2011, Houghton Mifflin). Documented activities on a small farm in western North Carolina for Farm & Ranch Living magazine and two rural homesteads for Country magazine. Documented the declining Florida torreya tree (an endangered endemic species found only in a small area of the Florida Cloud Forest Reserve near Quito, Ecuador: Cloud forest scenics, ecotourism, hummingbirds, flowers. Galapagos Islands of San Cristobal, Genovesa, Fernandina, Isabela, Santiago, Bartolome, North Seymore, Santa Cruz and Espanola. Endearing photos of waved albatross; Nazca, blue-footed, and red-footed boobies; Darwin finches; Galapagos sea lions; marine iguanas; land iguanas; giant tortoises.
